Sopranos Kristine Jaunalksne and Ulrike Hofbauer and baroque harpist Marie Bournisien met while studying at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in 2001, where they soon recognized their shared appreciation for the timeliness and modernity of „early“ music.

Together, they formed ensemble savadi with the goal of combining historically-informed performance practice with the emotional expression of three young people in the twenty-first century. In addition to „rediscovering“ works not performed for centuries, Ensemble savadi commissions works from living composers, thus strengthening the bridge between „then“ and „now“.
